Meet The Face Behind Inspection Wizards
I’m C William Hamilton, the proud owner of Inspection Wizards.
I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
After the 2008 housing market crash, there wasn’t a lot of business for civil/structural engineers like me. This led me to take stock of all of the skills that I had acquired until then and based on that, I decided to do what I loved to. My perseverance to stand by my passion helped me find a new niche as a home inspector. It combined my love of helping others with my knowledge of construction and engineering. This made home inspections a perfect fit for me and offered me the opportunity to build a business without too much competition.
While I introduced Inspection Wizards to the world in October 2013, before that, I worked as an engineer designing and inspecting projects for Kids R Kids Daycare centers, residential subdivisions for several regional and national builders, water and wastewater treatment facilities, post offices and highway/intersection designs, as well as ‘big-box’ retailers such as Lowes, Home Depot, Publix, Target, QT, and RaceTrac. But, when I built my career as a home inspector, I found a different sense of joy in the work that I did.
My business today has evolved from the early days to include more services (radon, mold, water, and air quality and structural evaluations) with a fine-tuned inspection report template that makes it easier for both my employees to record the inspection items and the realtors and our clients to read and determine whether the home is one they can continue to love.
The most rewarding part of this business is hearing a client tell us how much we helped them during the most important purchase of their life. Being a part of their homeownership journey makes us happy as we help them avoid regrets and obtain the best homes.
When it comes to inspecting a property, we make sure to go through it with the same care and attention to detail we would display if we were buying it for ourselves. After all, we want what’s best for our clients, and if that means we have to get down and dirty, so be it! Another way we like to satisfy our clients is by being honest with them and delivering on the promises we make them.
Besides these aspects, one of the biggest contributors to our success has been my engineering background, dedication to excellence, and the ability to provide maximum information and value to our clients. By doing what we do, our clients don’t only know what choices to make, they also learn where they can negotiate the price of their dream house.
My most satisfying moment in this business for me is when a client calls and asks us to do an inspection on another family member's home or when a client calls us back after five years and they want us to inspect a new home they are looking to buy. It makes us proud to know that our clients trust us and are happy to share this information within their family and social circles. Their word of mouth is the best way for our business to grow and has been our number one source of new clients over the years.
When I am not working, I like spending time with my family (ten children and ten grandchildren), going to concerts, and playing softball. But when I want to get away and just relax, I love going on cruise vacations with my wife and family. I also support our local veterans, especially the homeless veterans who are currently struggling.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
